Born to Italian parents in 1938, I always knew that Nonno & Nonna Gagliardini emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1905.
Nonna lived next door to my family on our ranch in Madera, CA until she passed in 1957.
My Nonno passed prior to my birth.
For the first 19 years of my life, my Nonna (Italian for grandmother)
shared many stories with me from her early years in CupraMontana, Italy.
This is a small village located about 30 miles east of Ancona, Italy, in the Marche Region. She was born there in 1876.

For many years I knew I NEEDED to see for myself where she grew up, fell in love, married, had four of her children, and eventually came to America!
This trip for me was "A Dream Come True."
